@negeen-dargahi @halle-eavelyn
Ok, Realtor Trojan horse questions! 😉
- Is it okay to add “Thanks for connecting! I looked over your profile and it looks like we have some synergy. What’s your core business for 2021?” (I really like added the looks like we have some synergy part and when @halle-eavelyn messaged me with that after we connected – it made me feel like she took the time to look at my profile even if that wasn’t true) Also, I know that 2020 and Covid-19 changed things SO much for so many people and I like to be sensitive to that and like the addition of the year in there. –> Is that reinventing the wheel or is that okay? I just finished the Trojan Horse part of the module and haven’t started sending connections or messaging people yet and wanted to make sure to ask before I start that!
- In regards to area, I work in about 3 different counties and a handful of areas – should I just modify the city part on each message or just focus on a certain city/county for my perfect client and where I’d truly like to really build a lot of business and branch out from there?
- Lastly, and I apologize if this is a dumb question or I’m overthinking things, but what in the world do we do when we get on the call if we don’t actually have a huge network yet or can benefit this person lol?! I am coming from the positioning that I am THE best listing agent in the area (even if I’ve only listed 3 homes) but want to make sure I can bring value to them and not just waste their time on the call. PS. Feel free to tell me to cool my jets and calm down and finish the process because all that training is coming, especially for Realtors… lol
Ok thanks for reading! 😀
-Sincerely, one very eager #HECPBaby

Hi @hillary-jones!! Good questions.
- Adding in the year as a personal touch is a good option, so go ahead and do that!
- If it doesn’t take too much time for you to see what city/county they are in, go ahead and add that for the added personal touch. If you want to even broaden to the state, you could do that too, to save time.
- We have training in the Realtor Forum in the support forum, I believe as a pinned post, on a sales script. But really, just set out like 15minutes for each call, get to know them without qualifying them initially and you really want to see if they are a good fit.

@hillary-jones
Hillary, I was on the Realtor call yesterday when you expressed a fear of messaging on LinkedIn. I have to admit I was and still am a little apprehensive using the 4 questions.
Connecting is easy, but few strangers seem to accept connections. Some do, however, look at your profile. Most people that connect are 2nd level connections of people I already know. But when you just sit down and do it it is not too bad. I had one that connected, who I went through the questions as directed who actually ended up being someone who was looking to move out of state, but already had friends that were Realtors. We have however at least started a conversation that may still go somewhere, as I am offering something the others aren’t that can help her.
I have a harder time with connections I already have trying to turn them into discussions around real estate, if they don’t say something like so I see you changed careers to real estate). But I keep a flow and eventually bring it up and at least tell them what I am doing and asked if they know anyone, that needs that service and to keep me in mind. I think one of the keys is connecting so that what you post will keep you in mind.
What type of client are you targeting? Have you been in real estate for long or is this new to you?
