ATTN: Coaches and Consultants
(all service based businesses if slightly tweaked)
1) Great to connect ‘NAME’… what’s your core business?
2) Perfect. What’s your main focus this year?
3) Love that! If I had a few simple strategies that would help you accomplish that, would you like me to share those with you?
4) Fantastic. What are a few time windows that you have available tomorrow to chat?
5) 2pm works. What’s your mobile?

Would it make sense to ask about a pain point in Q2? e.g. What is your biggest challenge? instead of “What is your core focus?”
-
April 5, 2018 at 10:37 am #6562
Hi @laura-barker – absolutely! I would split test it and see how people respond!
-
April 5, 2018 at 10:53 am #6571
@negeen-dargahi just fyi I spoke /w Kent about this on the call on Tuesday. He said that, generally speaking, personal pain points are not something folks like to reveal so soon in the relationship and that many ppl wouldn’t want to put their weaknesses in writing where others may see it. That said, if I make it a general question, I may have more luck. So, I think I will split test with something like “Based on your experience, what is one of the biggest challenges faced by (ppl in your position)? If you have any suggestions on the wording of this, I welcome your insights!
-
April 5, 2018 at 11:10 am #6579
@laura-barker I’m learning something new as well! Great sub-question. Thank you for letting me know.
-
April 5, 2018 at 12:57 pm #6680
@negeen-dargahi “What is your core business?” doesn’t really fit my target market. I was thinking about “What is your core professional focus for 2018?”
Does that work?
-
April 5, 2018 at 6:07 pm #6755
Hey @michelle-dumas – that just looks like a longer version of “what is your core business” — its the recommended first question to ask but if you’re not comfortable using that, your 2nd best option could be “Great to connect, [NAME]! What’s your core focus for 2018”
-
April 7, 2018 at 7:37 pm #6917
@negeen-dargahi I like @laura-barker & @michelle-dumas first question, What’s your focus for 2018? I also like What is your focus for this year?
I’m a real estate specialist and am having a hard time with the second and third question. This is what I came up with:
2. Perfect. What’s your main focus this year? (This seems like I’m repeating question one over)
3. Awesome! If I could show you a way to accomplish that, would you like me to share that with you?
-

Hi @sandra-thigpen,
Here are 4 questions Kent made for realtors. Now, I know you’re a specialist but I’d recommend using this outline:
Q1: Great to connect ‘NAME’… what’s your core business?
Q2: Perfect! Do you live in [YOUR MARKET]?
Q3: Fantastic. How many years have you lived here?
That’s great! Let’s chat for a few minutes. I have a fairly big network that may benefit you.
Q4: What are a few time windows that you have tomorrow?
2pm works perfect <span class=”_47e3 _5mfr” title=”smile emoticon”>
Q5: What’s your mobile?
Great. I’ll call you at 2pm.
Talk soon,

@sandra-thigpen I often go directly from Q1 to asking for the call. I keep my objective as simply booking the call. As such, I don’t get into a conversation w/ them until we are on the phone. Then, that is where I ask the questions that let me know how/if I can help them. Helping them is my primary objective. Sometimes that means talking about my services and sometimes it doesn’t.
My 4 questions are:
1. Great to connect on Linkedin and what’s the value in that if we never interact?
So… quick question: what’s your core business? (sometimes I switch it to “core focus” and sometimes I throw in “for 2018″)
2. Hello name,
That’s awesome (or something like that)! It appears we could potentially be a good fit to work together. Let’s set up a time to connect. What are a few time windows that you have available this week?
3. 2pm tomorrow is perfect! What’s your mobile number?
4. Great! I’ve got you set for 2pm tomorrow. I’ll be calling you at the mobile number above from 865-335-4893 ( I like to give them my number so they will pick up when I call).

Jane Cranston: 4 questions
Great to connect!
What’s your core business?
Interesting.
What’s your main focus for 2018?
I have some simple strategies that can help you reach your goals. Would you like to hear about them?
Great!
What are a few time slots you have available tomorrow?
Perfect. 10 am ET works. What’s your mobile?
-
April 12, 2018 at 10:24 am #7536
Hi @jane-cranston!
Nice work, but this is a little cold and not very interactive. Especially when you respond with “interesting” and then shoot to a different question.
I personally think you should stick to the outline —>
1) Great to connect ‘NAME’… what’s your core business?
2) Perfect. What’s your main focus this year?
3) Love that! If I had a few simple strategies that would help you accomplish that, would you like me to share those with you?
4) Fantastic. What are a few time windows that you have available tomorrow to chat?
5) 2pm works. What’s your mobile?

April 17, 2018 at 7:11 pm #8336
Awesome job, @barbara-klasic!!
Instead of responding Q2 with –> “Sounds Interesting?” I want you to say “Very nice!” or something other than “interesting”.
Everything else looks fantastic!! Great work.

Since I am in the recruiting business, should I be asking how to plan on attracting candidates and maintaining current employees rather then what is your core business? If are in the industry that I specialize in wouldn’t I presumably know what there core business is?
-
May 3, 2018 at 8:50 pm #10281
Hi @gil-barkon-2! So, the 4 question is a way to start a dialogue to simply get them on the phone with you ASAP. Even though they may question why you don’t know, it’s just a way to get them talking to you. You could even ask –>
Great to connect, [NAME]! What’s your core focus?
-
-
May 13, 2018 at 7:25 pm #11183
My 4 questions:
Q1: Hi
. Thanks for reaching out to me to connect. What is your core business?
A1: Great!Q2: Who is your target audience?
A2: That’s great. We target some of the same industries.Q3: If I could show you a way to increase your cashflow without giving 30-50% away to collection attorneys, is that something you would be interested in?
A3: YesQ4: Would tomorrow or the next day work for you?
A4: Day picked, great!
Q4a: How is 10 or 2?
A4a: Time picked, great! I will call you at on <day>. In the meantime, I will text over to you a short video to learn a little about what we do. Have a great day! -

4 – Questions.
1. What’s your core business?
2. Are your investments protected from the next market crash?
3. Do you feel that having a strategy that protects your savings from market loss could prevent you from having a financial setback?
4. What day and time can we chat?
-
May 21, 2018 at 2:03 pm #11933
Hi @zak-fang! A nice start on your 4 questions but these are are a bit long and qualifying too much. Below, I’ve tried to revise in order for maximum response. @kent-littlejohn, let me know your thoughts!
1. Great to connect, [NAME]! What’s your core business?
2. Perfect! Do you have any current investments?
3. Fantastic. If I could help you protect your investments in case of a market crash, would you have interest?
or
Fantastic. If I could show you a way to _______ would that be of interest to you?
4. Great! What day and time can we chat?

@kurt-axt – LOVE your questions! One thought though…there isn’t a call to action on Q4. My experience is you will likely lose folks w/o a specific, “what time(s) work(s) for you?”
Thanks for sharing!
Laura

Hi @colleen-waldoch! I like where you’re going with your question but they are not as personable as they should be. A bit too “qualifying”… try these question Kent made for realtors:
Q1: Great to connect ‘NAME’… what’s your core business?
Q2: Perfect! Do you live in [YOUR MARKET]?
Q3: Fantastic. How many years have you lived here?
That’s great! Let’s chat for a few minutes. I have a fairly big network that may benefit you.
Q4: What are a few time windows that you have tomorrow?
2pm works perfect
Q5: What’s your mobile?
Great. I’ll call you at 2pm.

On the avatar, Do you put all the areas you made comments before on the last summary or is that suppose to be something different. If it is to be all you have done before, do you copy and past because I won’t remember each one to rewrite the info. Thanks, Gae

Great to connect. What is your core focus for 2018?
Where do you live?
May we have a quick chat to see if it would be a good fit to help each other?
-
November 18, 2018 at 9:22 pm #28340
@gae-callaway – just a thought about that post…when you ask two distinct questions in one post, I have found that you rarely get the answer you were actually hoping for – in your case, can we schedule a call. A confused (split) mind does nothing. you might want to take out the “where do you live” question. It makes a great opener for when you actually get to talk with them. just my two cents….:-)
-
November 19, 2018 at 9:32 am #28356
Thanks for your insight. That was one of the questions I had asked as, do you say first, Great to connect and then wait till they respond, or do you do more? My number is 361 442 4592. Please call when it is a good time for you. Gae
