Is it possible to post an article such as our hero story on the LinkedIn profile and not have it publish on our news feed? I understand this may be counter to your strategy. I would rather not have this read by everyone though.

Hi Joy! Before you add it to your profile, just go to your LinkedIn settings and go to the Visibility section. In there, you will see “Share profile updates with your network”. Just turn that off. Then add the hero story to your profile. Once you add it, you can go back and enable the sharing updates option.
When you have it turned off and then add the story to your profile, no one will be notified! However, if they go to your profile, they will still be able to see it.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your reply.
I followed your instructions in the visibility section. However, when I went to publish my article/hero story, I got a pop up window that said anyone can see my post on my news feed. There was no option to change this.
Is this just a generic message everyone gets regardless of how your personal visibility has been set? I double checked that I had turned off notifications to updates on my profile.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks.
Joy

Hi @joy-denton, I believe it should not display unless you have your settings for the public.
You should be fine! If you start receiving comments or likes – that means it’s public and perhaps it automatically went to public.
