I am new to Linkedin.  I have read a number of the questions concerning getting contacts in the support forums and I am still a little confused.  It appears what I should do is search for the type of people I am trying to target such as real estate investors, or real estate tax attorneys etc and when their names come up, click on connect.  once connected I start the first question.  Is this right?  Won’t some people complain to Linkedin that they don’t know me etc? And then I get blocked?

          Hi @mark-gutentag! Happy to help!

Everyone is on LinkedIn to connect with new people (or people they already know).

You WANT to connect with people you’ve never met, people you WANT to work with, people you DO know, people who flat out don’t fall into your ideal client, etc.

No one will report you for asking what they do (even if it says it on their page).

That’s why everyone is on the site. To connect with like-minded people.

          Does that make sense?

To answer your earlier questions about connecting with people by searching for their occupation, the answer is YES!

          Nice job on that!

Ideally, you would do that and just connect with everyone and anyone. Start sending out those Q1 and get the ball rolling 🙂

If you’re still confused about LinkedIn, I’d recommend you watch some tutorials on YouTube such as “LinkedIn tutorial” so you can get familiarized with the site.

Support Forums are being phased out. You can still view the existing Forum posts but can no longer post in them. For all Support needs, please email help@coredm.com or click the blue Question Mark icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen.
