I am requesting a time extension on my HE course.  I know that you give us 12 weeks to do 8 modules.  However, I have a couple of unusual reasons why I need a 2-week extension.  As you can check, I have not been in the course much since 4-11-19.  Also, I have only been on one call since then.

        1. My Internet was unstable for about weeks and went down morning of 4-12.  It was early afternoon 4-15 before it was restored.  We have had a lot of wind here and what the tech found was that the line had been blown down and broken.  Unable to do anything on the Internet during this time.
        2. On 4-15, I had to take my 94 yr old Mom to ER due to her being in unbearable pain.  She had fallen back on 3-23-19, slipped off her front porch as she went to set down – was slippery and was thrown back against the porch edge.  I tried several times to get her to go to ER but always No.  The CT scan revealed 3 broken vertebrae and 1 broken rib.  One vertebrae break was a compound  compression fracture–probably point of impact.  They would not release her without a back brace and had none at the hospital so she was admitted.  I won’t go into the details but Mon-Wed am was an ordeal at the first hospital and we had to wait 14 hrs for her release from time of request.  They tried to get her to stay for the kyphoplasty surgical procedure to repair that worst break.  We reminded them that it was optional and we had an appointment shortly with another neurosurgeon and needed to be released ASAP.  From there, we went to the next surgeon for the consult, had a couple hours break and then to another area hospital for the procedure to be done.  I have stayed with her 2 nights to be able to observe how she is doing.  It takes 24 hrs for anesthesia to get out of one’s system and sometimes longer for older people.

Appreciate very much your understanding.  I expect to get back on track with the course and all the Linked In conn/msg processes this next week.  I have a cousin who is working on traveling here to stay with her for a week or so which would be a great help.

        Thank you.
