I need to know how to shut down the updates so I can make changes add videos etc.  without updating contacts with each change. How do I?

Do I need to shut down the ability for others to view my contacts? If so how?

My product is a normal 3 to 4 appointment sale and over 90% of the biggest producers in our industry start with seminars because the client can see the connection with their problem and most don’t even realize there is a problem.   The seminar educates them and uncovers the problem so they are open for an answer.   Also webinars and book and handing out books to stir that pot.   It’s extremely hard to recreate that on a cold call where their mind isn’t even there yet nor had a chance to make that shift with a product that isn’t easy to picture as a solution.   How can I shift that mindset?   I can send a video link and ask them for that time to talk after they view a concept or what’s your thoughts.   I don’t want to burn a possibly good prospect.   We have the highest turn over of any industry for a reason.  It’s hard for the client to picture in their mind, hence book and seminar effectiveness.  Indexed Universal Life and Indexed Annuities, as well as specialized tax incentives.

I had a question on the 30-second ads.   I had created 11 recordings on different topics thinking of creating a static power point video with my picture in the corner and the topic of the video listed on the screen.   On the call today it was suggested to do a smartphone video.  It took me several hours to get the 11 recordings and the topics just right.  I figured the power point part wouldn’t take that long on each, but before I go changing it.   Is my thought on these videos off.    My colleague does regular money schools online and a regular radio show so he’s excellent and even some of his videos had distracting images until they really controlled the format.   I want to do whatever works but video presentation on the fly isn’t my strength. Thoughts?

Hi @mark-harrison, I’m going to do my best to answer your questions below:

            1. In order to prevent others from seeing your changes to your profile, you need to go into your privacy settings. You can get there by clicking on ‘me’ at the top right-hand corner and scrolling down and clicking on ‘privacy & settings’ and from there you can see the visibility options. I find that not a lot of people mess with this since typically, it won’t matter. But your call.
            2. You can hide your contacts visibility to your connections, although it’s not required, it’s really what you’re comfortable with. Again, you would need to do this in your privacy settings with what your connections are able to see.
            3. Hm, @kent-littlejohn or @halle-eavelyn, can you help with the paragraph in the first comment as far as how he can market his product when he is on the phone with a potential client? In my opinion, talk with them on the phone, qualify them and then direct them to that video. Although, Kent or Halle probably have better insight on this than I do.
            4. If you haven’t gotten feedback yet on your LinkedIn accelerator, please put your infomercial on pause. When you get to your 30-second infomercial, I want to provide feedback on your script before you spend hours recording, okay? Please go through the lessons slowly and once you’ve written your LinkedIn profile, plug it in and send me a direct link to your profile in a NEW post in the correct forum. Thank you.
